DaveLeeNC September 4, I bought the book and tried it. It just wasn't effective for me. But I can imagine many golfers finding that approach to be helpful. September 5, Wedge September 5, Yes it is.

The theory is that the lower body will sequence itself just fine provided you maintain leverage in the back leg by keying the entire swing with the left shoulder while keeping the armpit glued. The most salient part of the book IMO. This is not new if you consider Hogan's handkerchiefs and Ballard's "Connection", but has not been emphasized in this manner to any great extent that I am familiar with.

I learned this concept from Ballard in and have found the most difficult feel for a former "arm hands" swinger is the swing radius seems much narrower, but it just feels that way if you have been disjointing from the shoulders.

As far as lag goes, just allow your wrists to hinge and unhinge while swinging from the core and you will develop plenty of lag. August 23, Note: This thread is days old. Wordle Daily Puzzle. HBD, bwdial! NCAA Football It is really really hard to win a game when you are down starters. As you start your takeaway , turn your right hip up to 45 degrees and right shoulder up to 90 degrees if you are a right handed golfer. Push the club with your left arm up to the end of your backswing.

The right hand will just support the club. Do not pick up the club with your hands and arms. This way your body will be fully coiled as you get to the top of your swing. Your arms and hands are kind of following the lead of your body. When the club is on the waist level height, the leading edge of the club should be pointing up.

Start slow and gradually increase your swing speed by turning your right hip and shoulder. As you get a full turn, the hands and arms follow. Get your arms and club on plane. Make a full power turn. Your hips should turn to the right up to 45 degrees back while your shoulder should rotate around 90 degrees back. If you turn fully, then you are able to get a big arc and a full swing in the backswing.

You now have a longer path and more time to accelerate as you transition to the downswing. If you just turn your shoulders at around 45 degrees, then you will feel cramped for time and do the downswing hastily. Again, this is very important, turning your right shoulder around 90 degrees is the key element to a smooth easy golf swing. Doing so will give you more time to build momentum gracefully.

As you reach the top of your swing and transition for a smooth downswing, start slow as your club goes down. It will appear that you are pausing at the top but you are just actually waiting for the club head to flex to its maximum point before starting the downswing. Pull the club with your right arm right down to the downswing until the end of the follow-through.

As you go through, your hips should face the direction of the target. Turn your right foot until only your toes touch the ground. You want to hit the ball straight so you move the club back in a straight line and down through a straight line. The club should not travel in a straight line because a golf swing is an arc around your body.

This means that the club should move in the target line, back to the target line, and then in the target line again. Aside from the path that the club travels, one thing that you should focus on is the direction of club face. The face should turn open on the way back. Then the face will close to a square position on the way down to impact. Do these drills frequently so that you will build muscle memory. The more repetition you do, the more the motion will become ingrained in your muscle memory.

You can learn how to make an easy golf swing that gets distance.
